I was wee when I found out that Samus was really a woman. I was reading one of the Super Mario comics, and there she was, being bad ass! 

With the new release of Super Smash Bros, I was inspired to draw some of the characters from that. While I really really dislike what has been happening to Samus; Other M making her whinny and submissive and SSB giving her friggin’ space heels. SPACE HEELS! COME ON! 

Ahem… Right. Even with that, I still have hope that she can return to being a badass who doesn’t need permission to use her missiles, she only needs her own common sense.

February Love doodle - Kuranosuke and Tsukimi

When I first saw Jellyfish Princess (kuragehime) I instantly fell in love! And while the message (at least in the anime) is a little... off... (pretty much otaku women should dress nicer, but it's like putting on armor against the world. Pretty much put more care in your appearance, because it's a superficial world out there, and you don't want to be labeled and take advantage of, I guess) I agree, but I don't WANT to agree, ya know?)

In any case, the anime ends after one season, with no resolution. But I loved all the characters, especially Tsukimi and Kuranosuke! And so here's my version of a jellyfish dress n_n enjoy! And if you haven't seen Jellyfish Princess, and enjoy fluffy/slice-of-life animes, I would highly recommend it!

February Love Doodle - Xena and Gabrielle

Not going to lie, this one was tough. I knew I wanted Gaby to be fixing up Xena, but their faces! Oh gawd, their faces were so hard to get looking how I imagined... and honestly, I still don't like it 100%. I'll have to come back to it someday, but for now, here it is. I guess in the end, we always wish we could do better, inner critic never shuts up! But that's the point of this doodle a day thing, to keep drawing, work out rusty kinks.

Brienne is amazing! I LOVE HER! I WANT TO *BE* HER! She's all strong and bad ass and can hold her own. Her and Jaime have an interesting dynamic. It was fun giving them scars, considering they are both warriors, it would be arrogant to think they never got wounded.

It was hard trying to make this as spoiler-free as possible....

Usagi and Mamoru, somewhere in their time line (I imagine a little older, but before chibi-usa) Sailor Moon was one of my first animes growing up, and it was amazing. I remember waking up at 5 am and sneaking downstairs and watching it, keeping the volume super low as to not wake my parents. Jupiter was always my favorite though. Being a tall girl myself, I felt some of her pain, but really I related with Usagi more. All in all, I'm really looking forward to the reboot, and hopes it gives other little girls role models that we can feel good about them aspiring to be.

I loved Groose! I didn't think I would, and maybe it was Video Games Awesome's Frash voicing him in sucha  way that made him so stupidly adorable that won me over, but I loved him all the same. I couldn't imagine Groose being good at meditation, and I couldn't imagine Impa giving a damn.

Nothing quite like the smell of tea while trying to sort through your mind palace, eh Sherlock?

Drawing pictures based on real people, and not art/cartoons is tricky. Thor and Loki were easy, there is comic reference for them, and they are BASED on illustrations. Sherlock gave me a hard time. I still don't like how his arms are looking, but it is what it is, and we move on to day 3!

February Doodle Love - Day 01 - Tender Embrace

So I decided in celebration for the month of February, I will try to do a doodle a day showing some form of love (be it romantic, or platonic, etc...) and here is day one!

I recently saw this fandom with Jotun!Loki and Thor, and thought if the two were to be shipped together, this would be the way to go. (they were raised as brothers in cannon... but hey, you're aloud to ship what you want to ship!) In any case, one of my friends REALLY LOVES this pairing, so really, she's the reason I started all this (this is on you, Jen).

Now, I can pretty much guarantee that not all the doodles will be coloured. Pretty much whatever I can get done for that day is what I'll be posting. But I will guarantee that they will be all fanart of one pairing or another!

Pokemon Challenge - Sandshrew and Sandslash

Sorry about the delay. I was busy over the last week with work, and a lovely house guest. But we're getting back on track with a double upload of sandslash and sandshrew! I'll probably colour/shade them at some point, but I sort of ran out of time. WHOOPSIE!

Tomorrow i'll be uploading the entire Nidoran evolution, and then I'll be up to date! And we continue forward with five pokemon a week!

Sorry I'm a day late. Time got away from me. And so today, we have two pokemon (three if you want to get technical) The pikachus are cheering eachother up. *Pat pat* pikachu, ya did good kid!

And Raichu is just being a rebel. He has a scarf and everything! That means he's a rebel, doesn't play by the rules. A real badass!
